Designer's Note
“Ningbo Hankyu, a renowned Japanese department store, has launched its first store in China. This expansive mall features luxury brands from around the world, along with a wide variety of attractive shops.
The second % Arabica store in Ningbo has now opened on the ground floor. Due to the complexity of the shop’s layout, we focused on creating a cohesive space, which led us to the concept of “seamlessness”. We imagined that customers could immerse themselves in the % space by arranging Chemex, one of the identities of % Arabica, in the store continuously.
Interestingly, many of those Chemex were repurposed from the stores that had sadly left, and the design is also designed with sustainability in mind. The store also has a variety of seats – such as counter seats, long benches, and table seats so that customers can freely choose where they can spend their time. We hope that the people of Ningbo will visit here on a daily basis”
